“Pokémon the Series: XYZ” Starts this Saturday!

Following its debut in Japan last year in October, the official Pokémon site has announced that the latest season of the Pokémon anime will be starting very soon in North America!  The first episode of Pokémon the Series: XYZ will be airing tomorrow on Cartoon Network in the US.  This is the season that marks the arrival of the mysterious Zygarde Core and its many different forms, the debut of Ash’s Greninja, and the moment when Ash and Alain (from the Mega Evolution special episodes) cross paths for the first time.

Team Flare also makes their grand debut this season as the major villains of the story, seeking the hidden power of Zygarde for their own nefarious purposes.  Also, one last Gym Leader stands in the way of in Ash’s quest to collect the 8 badges needed to compete in the Kalos Pokémon League.

A brand new trailer showcasing part of the new opening theme for this season has been released on Youtube, which you can view for yourself just down below here:

As usual, scenes from the Japanese version of the opening are found within the new English opening sequence as well, hinting at what’s to come in the series.  You can actually view the original Japanese opening here if you need a refresher.

Pokémon the Series: XYZ starts tomorrow in the US on Februrary 20, 2016 on Cartoon Network.  No word yet on the UK or Canadian airing of this new season, but keep checking your local listings.

As great as it is that the newest season is finally making its debut in English, hopefully this’ll bring us closer to revealing the next set of Pokémon games.
