Pokémon GO players should gear up for an action-packed week as Team Go Rocket invades the game during the Fashion Week: Taken Over event. Scheduled from January 15th to 19th, players will have the opportunity to confront Giovanni and rescue Shadow Palkia. You can also catch Shadow Ho-Oh during the Shadow Raid Day on January 19th.
This Fashion Week introduces the game to two new Pokémon, Shroodle and its evolved form, Grafaiai. Shroodle can be hatched from 12 km Eggs. Throughout the event, Team Go Rocket will appear more frequently at PokéStops and in balloons, providing numerous opportunities to use a Charged TM to replace the Frustration move in your Shadow Pokémon’s moveset.
The event also sees the return of Shadow Pokémon, with newcomers such as Shadow Taillow, Snivy, Tepig, Oshawott, Trubbish, and Bunnelby. Some might even appear as Shiny variants. Players can battle these Shadow Pokémon through various Shadow Raids, and for the first time, participate using Remote Raid Passes, allowing engagement from anywhere.
A special research task will aid players in acquiring a Super Rocket Radar, essential for the confrontation with Giovanni to liberate Shadow Palkia. Additional Field Research tasks during the event will offer rewards, including Mysterious Components, Charged TMs, and Fast TMs. Completing the special Collection Challenge will reward players with Stardust and an encounter with Trubbish.
On January 19th, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time, the Ho-Oh Shadow Raid Day will provide extra Raid Passes and increase the chances of encountering Shiny Ho-Oh. Capturing Ho-Oh during this period grants the exclusive Charged Attack Sacred Fire. An optional event ticket is available for $5, offering further rewards.
This event promises intense gameplay and unique opportunities for trainers to expand their Shadow Pokémon collection and engage with new features.
